another oldie

this guy is another oldie. sadly i never took early pics of my process and junk. but its still cool. this was a charcoal piece i did for my head and hands class. this, like the painting i posted before this, is a drawing from a master copy to make the drawing process simpler because the original artist already made the hard choices on what to edit. so bleh! here you go nobody!

oldies but goodies

hey so hopefully over the next week im going to post some of my best school projects and the processes of getting to the final version. this first guy is a portrait done in oil paint. the assignment was to find a professional master painting and repaint it. the reason for painting a picture of a painting was to make it simpler for me/the class. the original painter already made choices on what to edit in the portrait, so that pretty much makes half the work already done. it was a good assignment for a first time oil painter, but now im sure i could do one even better from life. so anyway, the 2 other people who might actually read this, here you go!

there are still a lot of things on this final pic to fix, which i still want to do eventually, but for now-what's done is done!

below is the original reference i used to paint mine. i am pretty sure its by zack zdrale but im not positive, which makes me feel kinda bad. uh....oh well!
