fall semester 2011 update 2

Here are the other projects I did for my Illustration 3 class at the Academy of Art University. All done in photoshop illustrator. I had a ton of fun doing all of them! Definitely helped me get to know the program better and work on design.

Daredevil Comic

Over the fall semester I worked on a 10 page Daredevil comic. It was from a sample script from issue 28 by Brian Michael Bendis originally drawn by Alex Maleev. The pages I chose to draw start on page 10 and end on page 19. I actually had a lot of fun doing these. My teacher really pushed me to make simple shapes with as little cross hatching as possible. I think it really helped me learn a lot! There is a bit of progression with technique, so I think the later pages are a little better. Also there are some changes I would still like to make on some panels that my teacher recommended but havnt had the chance to make them yet because I wanted to make sure to finish all 10 pages before I went back and made small changes.

So here they are, pencils and inks

panel change to be more dynamic

fall semester 2011 updates

Hey so this semester in my illustration 3 class all I did was work with vectors in photoshop illustrator. check out the final results!

This is picture of my interactive environment; copy this link in your browser---http://gordonsilveria.com/spencer.swf ---to play around with it. Move your mouse around, and click some objects to see some animation! For some of them, you need to click and hold, or just leave the curser over the object to see the animation or hear a sound/song. All the animation was done with flash.

I went for a more cute and innocent look with this one. A little different than I normally do, but i think it was successful. And it was fun to do something different

new comic pencils

So these are some of my pencils from a Daredevil comic I'm working on for class. It's a sample script by Brian Michael Bendis, and a silent issue, so there's no dialogue. Since the assignment is only ten pages long, I started on page ten of the script, mostly because thats when all the action started. But I think the general plot of the script can still be understood throughout. So these are the first 3 pages of my pencils. The pencils aren't final yet, still some little fixes. But basically these are they! enjoy

SUMMER SKETCHES! part 2

So here are some sketches i did right when summer school ended. the main goal was to experiment with a little water color and my printer. i wanted to see how it would react just painting over my printed out sketches on water color paper. apparently this is nothing new and everybody knows this works...but it works! so i was excited. there can be a little discoloration but not much. anyway so thats the first half of sketches. the next part is just stuff i was inspired by at the time. like the Colombiana movie-not a great movie but Zoe Saldana was freaking hot. and i was looking through the kingdom come book by alex ross and i love his sketches, so to practice i just drew some of my favorites. and then i beat Batman: Arkham Asylum (woohoo!) over the break, so i drew the Ivy trophy-which was super super sexy, props to those modelers. anyway, this is part 2, part 1 is like 3 posts back. enjoy! now time for fall semester...sigh. later Nobody!
