this was my first decent project i did in water color, it was supposed to be a t-shirt design for the zoo or something, here is the first comp;
then after the first critique i went with these final lines
and then this was the final water color. i didnt do great on it but whatever
here is the second assignment i got from the ill2 class. this is a portrait of my girlfriend at the time. the background is supposed to say something about her personality, so it is the ipod menu thing in a stained glass like design because she is very religious and she loves a ton of different types of music. this is the photo i worked from...
and here are the lines of the first comp.
then here is my color comp process getting to the final colors
they are all done in a technique that was an option to do, which is using a shadow color to block in all the shadows, and then use a skin tone wash once the shadow side is dried. the shadow is supposed to be a color, a temperature, not just black, so i was practicing with that trying to not make it look weird. i dont think i was successful until the final.---but this guy under here is just a process pic before i added the skin tone wash
this is the final and this is what it looks like from a photo....
but i took a scan of the final too and i think the colors come across much better in it
thats it for now! part 2 later...
